About the Library Lounge

An exciting new space is being developed in Williams Landing! The Williams Landing Library Lounge is currently under construction and will be ready to open to the public in mid-2022.

This will be a brand-new space open Monday to Friday, with a short closure period during the day over lunch. It will be available to community members to access a range of library programs during the day and Youth Services facilitated programs and events some evenings across the week and weekends.

In addition to programs, the community can:

  • browse and borrow from a small collection,
  • become a library member; and
  • collect library holds and return items.
To help us plan our programs and services from the Williams Landing Library Lounge, complete the surveys below and tell us what programs you’d like to access from this new space.

Library Lounge is a specially designed space to host programs and events. Library staff at this site will focus on delivering programs for all ages Monday to Friday.

Our Youth Services team will also facilitate programs and events some evenings across the week.

Community members can visit Williams Landing Library Lounge to:

  • join a library program
  • borrow from a small collection
  • return items
  • collect holds
  • access WIFI
  • attend Youth Services run activities, programs and events after hours and on weekends; and
  • become a library member.

We will be running programs for all ages throughout the week. That includes some of our most popular programs, such as Songs and Stories, English Conversation Café, Craft and Conversation and after school activities.

Unlike our other libraries, the Lounge won’t have public computers or spaces to study or read for long periods.

The Williams Landing Library Lounge is one large open space featuring shelving along the perimeter walls. In the middle of the room, there are tables and chairs which can be folded away to make space for programs or events. The design was inspired by the local aviation history of Williams Landing and includes a very modern feature ceiling.

The Williams Landing Library Lounge will have approximately 4000 items that have been specially chosen by our collections team to cater to the specific needs of the community. We are currently researching and buying the collection, so please provide any feedback about what you want to borrow in the survey below.
