May Community Update

20 May 2026

With four projects open and ready for your feedback, read on to learn more!

Budget 2026/27

Each year, we prepare an annual budget which includes the important capital works, services and priorities for Council to deliver over the next financial year.

The 2026/27 draft Budget reflects what we’ve heard through ongoing feedback and conversations with our community, and outlines how your rates will support local services and keep our public spaces safe, welcoming and well maintained.

Now we want to know what you think. Share your feedback before the final document is presented to Councillors for potential adoption in June.

Learn more and share your feedback before Tuesday 26 May here.

Creative Wyndham

In 2024 we undertook extensive engagement to help shape the future of creativity in Wyndham. The insights gathered through this engagement directly informed the goals and actions within the draft Creative Wyndham Strategy which is ready for you to read and share your feedback!

Find out more about the development of the strategy and share your feedback before the document goes to Council in July for proposed adoption.

Share your feedback here before Wednesday 27 May.

A new community event space

In July 2025 we surveyed community groups about their need for access to a large community gathering space. From the 116 community groups we heard from 83% indicated that it was difficult to find a suitably sized venue in Wyndham.

Additional information collected from these community groups has informed the development of a concept plan for a community space that could accommodate up to 1,500 people.

We are keen to hear from community groups across Wyndham that would utilise an event space like this, to provide their feedback on the concept plan.

Learn more or share your feedback before Thursday 28 May here.

Wyndham Reconciliation Advisory Committee 2026

We are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community members to join the Wyndham Reconciliation Advisory Committee (WRAC) from June 2026 through to the completion of our next Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in June 2029.

There are both identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and non-identified positions available.

You can find out more about the committee, the journey of our last RAP and submit your EOI via The Loop.

Learn more and submit your EOI before 9 June here.
