Be part of shaping Wyndham's reconciliation journey

We are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community members to join the Wyndham Reconciliation Advisory Committee (WRAC) from June 2026 through to the completion of our next Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in June 2029, with identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and non-identified positions available.

By submitting an EOI, you’re letting us know you’re interested in being part of the Committee, which helps guide the development, implementation and reporting of Council’s new RAP.

Submit your EOI before 11:59PM Tuesday 9 June 2026

Before submitting your EOI

What you need to know before submitting your EOI

Anyone who lives, works, studies or volunteers in Wyndham and is aged 16 years or over can submit an EOI.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Care about their community
  • Want to support reconciliation
  • Understand, or are interested in, the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Feel comfortable sharing ideas and perspectives
  • Have strong connections in the community
  • Are open to listening to different views

If selected through the EOI process, Committee members will:

  • Help strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and Council
  • Provide advice to Council on issues that matter to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Wyndham
  • The Committee includes both First Nations and non-First Nations members.
  • 8 of the 12 Committee members will be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, in line with the Draft Terms of Reference
  • Two identified positions are available, with six current members continuing into the new term
  • Three non-identified positions are available
  • This is a voluntary unpaid role
  • Submitting an EOI does not guarantee a place on the Committee
  • Members will be selected by a panel of Council representatives and current Committee members
  • We expect the selection process to be finalised by mid/end-June 2026
  • Meetings are usually held every two months, but there will be additional optional meetings during the development process or as agreed by the Committee.
  • Meetings are preferably attended in person, but an online option will also be made available. The ability to attend these meetings is an important requirement of role.
