Project Update - May 2022

Thanks for your important feedback so far!

We have heard you want some more detail around the location and size of the dog off leash area. We have uploaded a concept design below which outlines where the fenced dog park could be located in Sidney Nolan Reserve. It will be around 3,000 square meters in size.

As part of the proposal, we would re-align the path network to ensure community members can continue to easily walk through the park. To allow for further feedback, we will be extending the engagement period for a further two weeks. Provide your feedback before 11:59PM on Sunday 29 May.

The Wyndham Dog Off-Leash Plan was endorsed by Council in February, 2022. Throughout the development of the plan, Council heard from the community in Point Cook that an additional dog park was needed due to the high number of registered dogs within the area.

When identifying the appropriate location for an additional site, the following has been taken into consideration:

  • Central location within Point Cook for equitable access for all residents
  • Proximity to existing Dog Park at Saltwater Reserve
  • Location of registered dogs
  • Size of the open space available and the existing uses of the site

Sidney Nolan Park is proposed as the location for an additional Dog Park within Point Cook.
