Hoppers Junction Urban Design Framework

Collective Visioning for Hoppers Junction

Hoppers Junction precinct is undergoing significant change. Wyndham City Council is preparing an Urban Design Framework to coordinate broader improvements to Hoppers Junction. Urban design framework is a planning tool to create better urban environments, well-designed public spaces, parks, streets, and amenities for people and businesses. It sets goals and requirements for the physical environment such as buildings heights and land use to promote better social and economic outcomes. A good urban design framework is prepared through collaboration and engagement of all people living or working in the area.

How can you get involved:

As a resident or business owner in the project area, you are invited to attend the Hoppers Junction Community Workshop to help us identify future improvements to the precinct.

Tuesday 10 March 2020

8:00AM–10:00AM

Wyndham City Council (Function Room 1)

45 Princes Hwy, Werribee

To help us with our planning and organisation for the event, please RSVP (register) by 3 March 2020 below.

Submissions close Tuesday 31 March for this part of the project.

Why is this plan being prepared?

Wyndham is a city on the rise with a projected population of 440,000 by 2040. The distribution of population, housing choices, employment, transport, and infrastructure are matters that need to be resolved in a way that results in higher quality of life for the people of Wyndham. The Wyndham 2040 Vision outlines the aspirations of the Wyndham community for their city as a ‘place for people.’ Furthermore, Wyndham City is finalising a long-term plan, Wyndham Urban Framework Plan, that provides general directions for future urban development. The Hoppers Junction precinct has been identified as a pivotal location for a new urban centre that has the potential for encouraging more development, improved urban amenities such as better public spaces, parks, and services, and more employment and business opportunities.
