This local park will be a valuable addition to the area's open space network - within close proximity to residences and schools.

What is a local park?
As defined in the Wyndham Open Space Strategy, a local park provides for multiple informal recreation activities for a range of age groups - generally located within 400 metres of all dwellings. They cater mainly for frequent, short duration visits by residents from the surrounding walkable neighbourhoods.

Latest update - community engagement outcomes and concept plan

Community feedback was previously sought via a survey that was mailed out to nearby residents and posted on The Loop (as can be seen in the timeline to the right). Thank you to everyone who contributed, as this has helped shape the design for the park.

This feedback has been summarised in the Community Engagement Findings Report and where possible, reflected in the updated Landscape Concept Plan.

Both documents can be found in the Document Library section to the right, and will be available for viewing until the end of April.

As per the Landscape Concept Plan, proposed works include:

  • A social area with a shelter, seating, barbeque, drinking fountain and bins.
  • Playground with equipment for various activities and ages.
  • Nature play.
  • Basketball hoop.
  • Concrete paths for walking, running and cycling.
  • Bench seats throughout.
  • Trees and garden bed planting (predominantly native species).
  • Open grass areas for play / relaxation.

Exact layouts and scope will be determined during detailed design, in line with Council's current levels of service guidelines and the Wyndham Open Space Strategy.
