Registrations closed on Sunday 1 August.

Thank you to everyone who registered for the People's Advisory Panel.

Our community have told us they want to be more involved in shaping Wyndham’s future – and we want that too. That is why we are creating a People’s Advisory Panel to provide input into everything we do at Council.

By becoming a member of this Panel, you will have the opportunity to give regular advice to Council and work with other residents to shape the future of our City. You don’t need to have any special knowledge about Council to join, just an interest in contributing to your local community.

Recruitment of participants for the Panel is being undertaken by an independent organisation, Deliberately Engaging.

The Panel is open to everyone and we are committed to making sure membership represents the diversity of Wyndham. Women, Indigenous people, people with disability, young people, LGBTIQ+ people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We want to create a mini Wyndham of people ready to have their voices heard.

Please note, elected representatives from any level of government, paid employees of any political party and Wyndham City Council employees and former Councillors cannot join.

We want to hear from as many people as possible!

As a member of the People's Advisory Panel, you'll have the opportunity to provide your local knowledge and contribute to a number of important Council decisions.

You'll work with others to learn more about your local community and how Council will work with you to make Wyndham the best it can be.

Membership of this Panel will last for twelve months, from August 2021 to July 2022.

From time to time, project-based panels will be created, and members will be randomly selected from the larger People’s Advisory Panel to be involved. The first project-based panel will help guide the development of Wyndham’s Asset Plan in late 2021. This will include how our services and assets operate in our City.

There will be lots of ways for you to be involved and you can be involved as much or as little as you would like. This could include different activities like surveys, focus groups, deliberative processes, workshops or interviews.

Please note, there will still be opportunities for all community members not registered for the Panel to participate in future engagements.

Support will be provided to make sure all members of the People’s Advisory Panel can participate. If you need information in another language, vision aids or any other support (such as childcare or help with other caring responsibilities), we will work with you to provide this.

When you register online or over the phone, please let us know about your specific requirements.

For support to register call Daren McDonald on 0472 761 324 or email enquires@deliberatelyengaging.com.au

After registration closes, we will send you an invitation to attend some optional Welcome Webinar’s where you can learn a little more about the Panel.

We will provide support to people who aren't familiar with webinars or who have limited access to the internet to make sure everyone is able to attend.

The webinars will take you through the purpose of the Panel as well as the different types of engagements you might participate in over the next 12 months.
