Wyndham City is calling for Expressions of Interest from local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to become members of the Wyndham Reconciliation Advisory Committee (WRAC) for the remainder of the Committee's term (Dec 2024) as per the Terms of Reference.

What you should know before completing your expression of interest form

• Support ongoing engagement between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and Council about how reconciliation can be achieved.
• Advise Wyndham City Council on matters that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Wyndham City.

Other important information:

• FOUR vacancies are available on the committee for First Nations identified community members.
• The committee’s Terms of Reference have determined that a majority of people on the Committee will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• The committee is made up of community members from both First Nations and non-First Nations background, the current vacancies are for First Nations identified community members.
• Participation on the Committee is voluntary.
• The successful Committee members will be selected by a small panel, consisting of representatives from Council and the Committee.
• We anticipate that this process will be completed by the end of March 2024.
• You will be required to attend the four meetings in 2024 (more can be held if agreed by Committee members). Current dates include:
  • Monday 20 May
  • Monday 15 July
  • Monday 16 September
  • Monday 2 December

If you’re unsuccessful in your application for the Committee, there will be other opportunities to work with Wyndham City Council on a range of reconciliation initiatives if you’re interested.
