Overview

Under the Suburban Parks Program, the Victorian Government is establishing three new Regional Parks in Melbourne’s growth areas.

A further investment will renew the planning for two regional parks and conduct some early establishment work in and around Melbourne’s western growth corridor.

This will mean:

  • Creating the new Werribee Township Regional Park (340 hectares of new parkland in Wyndham Vale)
  • Upgrading the Werribee River Regional Park (223 hectares of parkland to the south of Werribee).

Once complete, these scenic and environmentally important areas will provide over 1000 hectares offering a range of recreational activities such as walking and cycling tracks, and tourism and education opportunities.

Consultation

From May to June 2021, Parks Victoria will be consulting with stakeholders and the community to understand aspirations for the future each park.

Key dates for engagement activities are:

  • Wednesday 26 May

Online Community Information Session

6pm - 7.30pm

  • Saturday 26 June

Community Workshop
