Consultation for this project has concluded.

The Volunteering Strategy 2019/24 was adopted by Council in October 2019.

A copy of the policy can be downloaded from the document library. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of this strategy.

Following an extensive community consultation period from November 2018 to March 2019, the Draft Volunteering Strategy was approved for public exhibition by Wyndham City Council on Tuesday 25 June 2019.

Like most strategies, the Draft Wyndham Volunteering Strategy does not intend to detail everything we will do over the next five years - its purpose is to outline the most important priorities. In the document, these are laid out in five key focus areas, each of which includes priority actions and ways our work can make a difference. The five key focus areas are:

  1. Engaging, recognising and supporting volunteers
  2. Being flexible and inclusive of diversity
  3. Training and development
  4. Communication and collaboration
  5. Driving good practice and delivering outcomes.

Once the final strategy is updated following feedback from the public exhibition and then considered for adoption by Council in September 2019, detailed action plans will be developed each year to support and report on our progress. A large number of people shared their perspectives, passion and creativity to help develop this draft strategy. We look forward to hearing your feedback on it.

Volunteering survey for clubs, groups and organisations

Volunteering Australia defines volunteering as "time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain".

Many clubs, groups and organisations engage volunteers and rely on them for many facets of their work.

In this survey we are interested to understand the role of your club, group or organisation in involving volunteers, its strengths and challenges, and future needs.

If your club, group or organisation spends any time engaging volunteers, we would love to hear from you.

Survey for volunteers

There are many ways that people choose to give their time and energy to benefit others, for no pay. We call this volunteering.

Volunteering Australia defines volunteering as "time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain".

If you spend any time helping others outside your home we would love to hear from you.
