Consultation for this project has concluded.

The Volunteering Strategy 2019/24 was adopted by Council in October 2019.

A copy of the policy can be downloaded from the document library. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of this strategy.

Following an extensive community consultation period from November 2018 to March 2019, the Draft Volunteering Strategy was approved for public exhibition by Wyndham City Council on Tuesday 25 June 2019.

Like most strategies, the Draft Wyndham Volunteering Strategy does not intend to detail everything we will do over the next five years - its purpose is to outline the most important priorities. In the document, these are laid out in five key focus areas, each of which includes priority actions and ways our work can make a difference. The five key focus areas are:

  1. Engaging, recognising and supporting volunteers
  2. Being flexible and inclusive of diversity
  3. Training and development
  4. Communication and collaboration
  5. Driving good practice and delivering outcomes.

Once the final strategy is updated following feedback from the public exhibition and then considered for adoption by Council in September 2019, detailed action plans will be developed each year to support and report on our progress. A large number of people shared their perspectives, passion and creativity to help develop this draft strategy. We look forward to hearing your feedback on it.
