A new community garden for Hoppers Crossing

Following the demolition of the Mossfiel Kindergarten (replaced by the new Integrated Family Centre on Heaths Road), we have been planning a new community garden in the vacant area.

A concept design has been developed to turn this area into a new community garden, offering a welcoming space for people to grow their own produce, connect with neighbours, and build strong community connections.

The concept plan for the community garden includes a variety of raised garden beds and open space available for fruit and vegetables, herbs and fruit tree planting. It also includes a picnic shelter, pathways, storage and water tank.

Elements of the former kindergarten play area, including the gazebo, sand pit, mature trees and grass lawn, will be retained. The Community Garden will be secured by a 1.8m high fence ensuring safety and security for all visitors.

How to get involved

We want to know what you think of our plans to turn this site into a new community garden in Hoppers Crossing.

We're also keen to hear from those who are interested in being involved in the community garden via our EOI form below.

How will my feedback be used?

The feedback received will shape how this project progresses. If the community decides they don’t want a community garden here, or if we don’t receive enough interest through the Expressions of Interest, then the space will be left as an open grassed area for everyone to enjoy.

Want to share your feedback in person?

Members of the project team will be at the Mossfiel site in November.

  • Saturday 30 November, 12:30-1:30PM, Mossfiel Reserve (former kindergarten site), Hoppers Crossing VIC

No registration required, just come and meet the team and share your feedback in person or ask any questions you might have about the project.

Provide your feedback below before 11:59PM Sunday 15 December 2024
