Coastal & Marine Management Plan

The draft plan has been developed in collaboration with State Government planning agencies under the Marine & Coastal Act 2018 and explores a broad range of environmental, climate change, tourism, recreation, economic and development issues. The draft plan can be downloaded here.

What we've done so far

Between February and June 2018, Council hosted a series of community engagement sessions to understand what people love and value most about the Wyndham coast and their ideas for improving it into the future. Council also hosted a community engagement activity at the National Disability Insurance Scheme Expo to better understand how the coastline can be made more accessible to people living with a disability. Community engagement summaries for these initiatives are available in the document library.

In August 2018, community members were asked to provide feedback of the Coastal Management Plan Issues and Opportunities Paper. Based on the feedback received further research and investigations where undertaken to inform the preparation of the draft Coastal & Marine Management Plan.
